Australia has received an interim allocation of nomination places from the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs for migration program 2022-2023. The Government set up to increase migration program 2022-23 intake with a massive spike in areas for skilled nominated visas (subclass 190) and professional work regional visas (subclass 491) for more states.
The Australian Government announced the planning of the skilled migration program 2022-2023; it consists of 160,000 places, with two-thirds allocated to the Skills Stream and one-third allocated to the Family Stream.
Unlike last year’s plan, more emphasis has been given to the skilled immigration stream. Last year, the Government reserved more places, such as 77,300, which have been reduced to 50,000. On the other hand, the total quota for the skilled immigration stream was 79,600 last year, whereas this new quota allows 109,900 candidates.
Last year’s quota for the Family immigration stream was 77,300. A vast decrease has been announced for the partner stream, which was 72,300 and now 40,500. As per 2022-23 migration program planning levels, the percentage for the parent stream has increased from 4,500 to 6,000. No change in quota has been announced for children and other family categories.
